Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry, emphasized that protecting the interests of state employees remains a top priority for the government. Speaking at a meeting with the All Haryana PWD Mechanical Employees’ Union from Charkhi Dadri and Kurukshetra, she highlighted ongoing initiatives to rationalize work allocation and operational circles, ensuring that every employee performs duties strictly according to their designated posts.
Separate Uniforms for Beldars and Canal Guards
Minister Choudhry announced that Beldars and Canal Guards, considered the backbone of the department, will soon receive separate uniforms corresponding to their respective roles. This move aims to improve field identification, streamline operations, and enhance overall efficiency in water resource management.

Employee Demands to Be Addressed
During the meeting, union representatives raised several concerns and requests, all of which the Minister assured would be considered sympathetically. She confirmed that she would discuss key issues with Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh to ensure timely solutions.
Recognizing Departmental Achievements
Smt. Choudhry also praised the dedication of field staff, noting that Haryana recently secured third place at the national level for water conservation. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our employees and reflects the vision of my grandfather, the late Chaudhary Bansi Lal, who dreamed of a robust canal network and lift irrigation system in the state,” she said.
Administrative Support and Expedited Approvals
Additional Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Agarwal assured the Minister that all files and approvals resulting from the meeting’s directives would be expedited through the Finance and other relevant departments.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineers Sh. Rakesh Chauhan, Sh. Birender Singh, Dr. Satbir Kadian, along with other departmental officers and union representatives, who expressed gratitude for the Minister’s proactive engagement with employees’ concerns.
