Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel marks three years in office on December 12, 2025. Serving as the 18th Chief Minister of Gujarat, CM Patel assumed office along with a new Cabinet of Ministers in October 2022. Over the past three years, his administration has achieved significant milestones in governance, public safety, healthcare, urban development, and sports.
Under CM Bhupendra Patel leadership, Gujarat Police has seized 65,789.74 kg of illegal drugs worth over ₹5,426 crore, showcasing the state’s commitment to curbing narcotics. To further strengthen anti-drug measures, the state plans to establish six new zone-wise Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) units. Additionally, the implementation of Project VISWAS (Video Integration and State-Wide Advanced Security) has installed more than 7,000 CCTV cameras, helping solve over 14,000 cases in the last three years. The GP-DRASTI (Gujarat Police – Drone Response and Aerial Surveillance Tactical Intervention) project has further enhanced rapid response and state security.
Gujarat has also made notable progress in healthcare under CM Bhupendra Patel. The state has issued over 1.15 crore digital health cards for school students. With 465 kidney transplants, Gujarat ranks first in India. Furthermore, it became the first state to launch a Tribal Genome Sequencing Project to improve tribal health outcomes. In education, an AI-based Early Warning System (EWS) has been introduced to identify and prevent potential student dropouts for the 2025-26 academic session.

On the urban development front, 2025 has been declared ‘Urban Development Year’. Gujarat has upgraded nine municipalities to municipal corporation status, bringing the total number of municipal corporations to 17. In recognition of its cleanliness efforts, Ahmedabad was declared the cleanest city under Swachh Survekshan 2024–25, following Surat’s top rank in 2024.
The state has also achieved international recognition in sports, being named the host for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. CM Bhupendra Patel demonstrated decisive leadership during the Air India plane crash on June 12, 2025, coordinating rescue, medical aid, and emergency response efforts across the state, highlighting Gujarat’s administrative efficiency and commitment to citizen safety.
Through these initiatives, CM Bhupendra Patel’s government has strengthened Gujarat’s governance, security, healthcare, education, urban development, and global reputation in sports. The past three years reflect a blend of innovation, proactive administration, and citizen-centric policies aimed at building a modern and progressive Gujarat.
