Gujarat faces rising law and order crisis as AAP leader Isudan Gadhvi slams BJP over police misuse, rampant drugs, liquor trade, and sexual assaults on minors. Urgent action demanded.
Gujarat is witnessing a serious law and order crisis, according to Isudan Gadhvi, the state president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Speaking on recent disturbing incidents, Gadhvi alleged that the BJP government has failed to ensure the safety of citizens, especially children, while police forces are being misused against farmers.
Over the past ten days, Gujarat has reported three cases of sexual assault involving young girls in Gandhinagar, Bhavnagar, and earlier in Rajkot’s Atkot region. Addressing these incidents, Gadhvi criticized the state government for inaction and questioned why symbolic measures, like the one observed by the Chief Minister after a similar incident in West Bengal, were not undertaken for Gujarat. He urged the government to impose strict punishment on perpetrators and restore Gujarat as a safe and peaceful state.

Rampant Drug and Liquor Trade
Isudan Gadhvi highlighted the growing menace of illegal liquor and drug sales across the state. He accused the BJP administration of turning a blind eye to these issues while the police are deployed to suppress peaceful protests by farmers. “Police resources are diverted to protect BJP leaders, their businesses, and industrial associates, while innocent children are subjected to heinous crimes,” he said.
Farmers Protest and Police Excesses
The AAP leader Isudan Gadhvi recalled a recent protest where over 5,000 farmers gathered against the laying of electricity lines by Adani and other power companies. According to Isudan Gadhvi , police, acting on BJP directives, used lathis against mothers, sisters, and daughters who participated in the protest peacefully. He warned that Gujarat is being pushed toward a lawless state similar to Bihar.
Mundra Port Drugs Controversy
On the drug issue, Isudan Gadhvi pointed to the seizure of drugs worth ₹20,000 crore at Mundra Port. He demanded accountability and asked whether BJP leaders or industrialists had any links to the drug trade, highlighting concerns about lax oversight and possible collusion. “If thousands of crores worth of drugs are seized, the quantity that goes undetected must be immense. Citizens’ children are being dragged into drug addiction while BJP leaders profit from it,” he added.
Appeal to Citizens
Gadhvi called on the people of Gujarat, especially urban voters who supported the BJP, to recognize the “real face” of the government. He warned that inaction could push future generations into drug abuse and further deteriorate the state’s social fabric.
