Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi to inaugurate state-of-the-art Khaki Bhavan in Ahmedabad, featuring AI-integrated face recognition cameras, high-tech control room, 3D-printed police station, and advanced policing systems.
Ahmedabad, Gujarat – In a significant move to modernize policing infrastructure, a new state-of-the-art Khaki Bhavan has been constructed at the Ahmedabad Rural Police Headquarters. The facility will be inaugurated on Thursday by Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, along with other key government projects.
Modern Facilities for Police Personnel
The newly built Khaki Bhavan aims to provide facilities previously available only to IPS officers in the IPS mess to regular police personnel as well. This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to upgrading police infrastructure and enhancing the working environment for officers across ranks.
Digital Transformation in Ahmedabad Policing
Ahmedabad district is set to undergo a comprehensive digital transformation in policing. Innova patrol vehicles will now be equipped with AI-integrated body-mounted face recognition cameras. These cameras will not only help identify wanted criminals but also send real-time alerts to the police when suspicious activity is detected.

A high-tech control room will also be established near Sanand GIDC, with dedicated land already allocated. The control room will ensure uninterrupted operations for semiconductor plants by preventing satellite interference. Teams of specialized police and cyber experts will manage advanced security operations in industrial zones.
Advanced Security Measures for Industrial Areas
With large industries expected to set up operations in Sanand and Dholera, the Ahmedabad District Police Chief, Om Prakash Jat, has been tasked with implementing world-class security measures. The ‘ADR-Shield’ platform will integrate multiple systems, including the Human Resource Management System (HRMS), Dossier Management System, Daily Crime Report, and Abhay Yatri, to ensure efficient management and safety.
In a futuristic approach, Dholera will become India’s first 3D-printed police station, with machinery imported from Japan. High-tech drones will conduct night patrols over semiconductor plants, while AI-enabled camera cars will monitor the areas during the day to track suspicious activities and known criminals.
Tracking Police Personnel and Laborers
An HRMS portal has been developed to monitor nearly 1,400 police personnel in Ahmedabad district. The portal also includes identification data for laborers working across the district, ensuring that suspicious individuals or criminals can be immediately identified and apprehended.
This project marks a major leap in technology-driven policing in Gujarat, combining digital surveillance, AI integration, and advanced infrastructure to enhance law enforcement efficiency and public safety.
