Under NABARD financing, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has cleared 16 irrigation schemes proposed by the Irrigation Department.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a series of major development projects worth a total of ₹160.54 crore, aiming to strengthen irrigation systems, upgrade road connectivity, reduce human–wildlife conflict, and improve communication networks in disaster-sensitive districts across the state.
According to an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), these approvals are expected to accelerate rural development, support agricultural growth, and enhance disaster-response readiness across Uttarakhand.
₹53.68 Crore Approved for 16 Irrigation Projects
Under NABARD financing, CM Dhami has cleared 16 irrigation schemes proposed by the Irrigation Department.
These projects—covering multiple districts—will be developed at a total cost of ₹53.68 crore.
Officials stated that the schemes aim to improve water availability for farming communities, strengthen irrigation channels, and boost agricultural productivity.
Nagla–Kichha Motor Road to Be Expanded to Four Lanes
To improve transportation in Udham Singh Nagar district, the Chief Minister has approved a major road-upgradation project worth ₹80.63 crore.
The project includes widening the Nagla–Kichha Motor Road (State Highway 44) from two lanes to four lanes between km 4.850 and km 12.600.
The expansion is expected to ease traffic, enhance connectivity in the region, and support economic activity in the Kichha Assembly constituency.
₹11 Crore Sanctioned to Reduce Human–Wildlife Conflict
In view of increasing wildlife-related incidents in forest areas, CM Dhami has approved ₹11 crore from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
The allocation will be used to:

Strengthen response mechanisms

Support measures aimed at minimizing human–wildlife conflict
These interventions are expected to improve safety in vulnerable regions and support wildlife management efforts.
₹15.23 Crore to Upgrade Police Communication Network
To enhance disaster management capabilities, the Chief Minister has also cleared a ₹15.23 crore SDRF project focused on modernizing the police communication infrastructure.
The network upgrade will cover five disaster-prone districts:

This will ensure quicker communication, faster emergency response, and stronger coordination during natural calamities.
