Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi confirmed that if any new evidence emerges, a CBI inquiry could be initiated. Other ministers, including Subodh Uniyal and MP Naresh Bansal, echoed the statement, adding that the SIT had previously completed a detailed investigation, arresting all accused. “If anyone else is found involved, they will face legal consequences,” Joshi emphasized. He also mentioned that the ongoing protests reflect democratic expression, while the government continues its work in the public interest.

Animal Husbandry Minister Saurabh Bahuguna highlighted that the government respects public sentiment. “Ankita was everyone’s daughter and sister. The court has already awarded life imprisonment to the convicts. Any new findings will be carefully reviewed, keeping public opinion in mind,” he said. Referring to recent movements, Bahuguna added that the government’s decisions will honor the public’s demand for a potential CBI inquiry, showing responsiveness to citizens’ concerns.
