Punjab launches Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana: Citizens to get cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh. Health cards, private & government hospitals included.
The Punjab government has officially launched the Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana today, marking a major step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility for the state’s residents. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann personally inaugurated the scheme, with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal also attending the event.
The ambitious initiative aims to provide cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh to eligible families across Punjab. The scheme is designed to benefit all residents, including pensioners and government employees, provided they are permanent residents of the state.
Special Camps for Health Card Registration
To facilitate enrollment, the government is setting up special registration camps in every district of Punjab. Volunteers from local youth clubs will visit households to distribute tokens and guide citizens through the registration process. Residents are required to carry their Aadhaar card and Voter ID to designated centers for health card issuance.
Access to Private and Government Hospitals
The scheme has already listed over 800 private hospitals across the state, ensuring wide accessibility for beneficiaries. Additionally, treatment at government hospitals will remain completely free, making the initiative inclusive for all sections of society.
Strengthening Healthcare and Public Welfare
The Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana is expected to improve healthcare access and provide financial protection against high medical costs for the people of Punjab. By offering structured health coverage to over 65 lakh families, the state government aims to enhance both preventive and curative care for its citizens.
This initiative highlights the Punjab government’s commitment to public welfare, healthcare security, and inclusive development, reinforcing the administration’s efforts to create a healthier and more resilient population.
