Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami suspends DIG Amitabh Srivastava in the Home Guard uniform scam and orders a joint probe, reinforcing zero tolerance against corruption.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken firm action in the alleged Home Guard uniform procurement scam by suspending senior officer Amitabh Srivastava, who was serving as Director (Deputy Commandant) in the Home Guards and Civil Defence Department. The decision comes after serious financial irregularities were reported in the uniform purchase tenders for the financial years 2024–25 and 2025–26.
According to official sources, the irregularities were highlighted in a report submitted by the Director General of Home Guards and Civil Defence, Dehradun. The report pointed to violations of procurement rules, lack of transparency in the tender process, and possible financial misconduct during the selection of suppliers.
Joint Investigation Committee Formed
Acting on the recommendations of senior officials, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered the formation of a joint investigation committee to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter. The committee will examine tender documents, bidding procedures, payment records, and compliance with government procurement norms to identify accountability and prevent future lapses.
The suspended officer will remain under investigation until the inquiry is completed. Authorities have confirmed that strict disciplinary action will follow if the allegations are proven.
