Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced that the state is in the process of recruiting 1.44 lakh government employees, with the recruitment calendar for 1 lakh positions already released. Speaking at the Sarpanch Association event held on Monday at the Agricultural Research Center, Durgapura, Jaipur, the CM revealed that 21,000 young candidates will receive appointment letters directly from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his upcoming visit to Rajasthan.
CM Highlights Public Service and Accountability
Addressing the gathering, CM Bhajanlal Sharma described himself as a public servant, saying, “Only a servant can understand the difficulties of another servant. While not every request can be fulfilled, it is crucial to listen to the people.” He urged Sarpanch representatives to work with empathy and emphasized that citizens approach public representatives due to emotion, need, and influence.

Allegations Against Congress on Paper Leaks
The CM criticized previous Congress-led administrations, alleging that exams were frequently compromised due to paper leaks, whereas in the past two years, no examination has faced any leak under the current government. He reinforced the need for transparent governance and policy-based decisions to ensure public benefit.
Panchayat Reforms and Population-Based Rules
Bhajanlal Sharma, who served as a Sarpanch from 2000 to 2005, highlighted the importance of grassroots leadership. He stated that 3467 new Panchayats have been established in Rajasthan, with formation based on population and policy norms. In desert districts, Panchayats have been formed for populations of 1,500, while in other areas, the threshold is 2,500 residents.
Development Initiatives and Employment Programs
The CM mentioned the VB G RAM G scheme, which has been enhanced to provide 125 days of employment instead of 100. Under NREGA, the budget has been increased from ₹85,000 crore to ₹95,692 crore. Additionally, proposals submitted by Gram Sabhas can now be used to implement permanent construction works, including the repair of school and hospital buildings, and boundary walls.
Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal stressed that these steps aim to strengthen rural development, provide more employment opportunities, and ensure transparent governance. He called upon local representatives to focus on effective service delivery, noting that fairness and transparency are essential for sustainable development in Rajasthan.
