The ongoing strike by JP Group employees has reached a positive conclusion following the successful mediation by AAP MLA Chhatar Vasava. After 15 days of protest, the management of JP Group agreed to six out of seven demands raised by the striking employees and assured prompt implementation of the final demand concerning salary increments.
182 employees had been on strike since January 17, citing unresolved grievances despite years of dedicated service. Many of the workers are land losers whose lands were acquired under the Sardar Sarovar Project. The employees had previously approached JP Group management multiple times, but their demands were not addressed, leading to the strike.
During a video briefing, MLA Chhatar Vasava stated that the management has agreed that, effective April 1, all employees will receive salary increments based on their job roles and seniority. Additionally, JP Group, in collaboration with Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam, has issued written assurances on their official letterhead to formalize the agreement.

Vasava further explained that for the seven-day strike period, employees’ wages will not be deducted, and the management has promised timely payment of all salaries. Out of the 182 employees, 62 employees will receive promotions, and 20–25 employees will get upgradation benefits in alignment with the settlement.
“This settlement is a significant step toward employee satisfaction and industrial harmony,” Vasava added. “We hope the management will treat employees like family, and employees will continue to work with dedication.”
The mediation successfully ended the strike, ensuring that employees’ legitimate demands were met while maintaining a collaborative relationship between workers and management.
