Government’s Commitment to Public Welfare
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised the public’s support for the government’s welfare initiatives, noting that the previous administration’s corruption had hindered citizens’ benefits. She said the government’s efforts are focused on transparency and delivering results, ensuring that every citizen has access to essential services such as affordable food, clean water, and proper sanitation.
Union Minister Harsh Malhotra remarked, “Delhi is changing. Over the past decade, improvements in electricity connections, water pipelines, and sewerage systems have positively impacted citizens’ daily lives. The Atal Canteen initiative is not just about providing food—it’s about offering dignity along with nourishment to those in need.”
Key Objectives of the Atal Canteen Scheme
The Atal Canteen scheme aims to provide nutritious meals at minimal costs for workers, laborers, and economically weaker sections of society. Each canteen is designed to offer freshly prepared meals, ensuring that affordability does not compromise quality. With the 25 new outlets, residents of East Delhi and surrounding areas will now have easier access to these benefits, strengthening the city’s overall food security network.
The expansion of the Atal Canteen scheme demonstrates Delhi’s commitment to public welfare and social equity, making affordable, nutritious meals accessible to thousands more citizens every day.
