Haryana Budget Session 2026 begins on February 20. Over 14,500 suggestions collected through stakeholder meetings and AI chatbot to shape citizen-centric initiatives for FY 2026-27.
The Haryana Legislative Assembly is set to commence its Budget Session 2026 from February 20, with the state government gearing up to present the upcoming financial plan for the fiscal year 2026-27. In preparation, Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini conducted extensive pre-budget consultations to incorporate public feedback and expert suggestions into the budget.
Extensive Pre-Budget Consultations
During the pre-budget consultation process, the Chief Minister organized 13 meetings with various stakeholders, including industry representatives, social organizations, and community leaders. These meetings resulted in the collection of 2,199 detailed suggestions aimed at improving state welfare schemes, infrastructure development, and economic growth initiatives.
In addition to traditional consultations, Haryana became one of the first states to leverage technology by introducing an AI-powered chatbot to gather public input. Through this digital platform, the government received approximately 12,400 suggestions from citizens across the state, reflecting their priorities and concerns.
Key Insights from the Consultation Process
Addressing the media, Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini stated, “We have gathered a total of over 14,500 suggestions through both in-person consultations and AI platforms. After careful review and deliberation, we plan to incorporate at least 4,000–5,000 suggestions into the Haryana Budget 2026-27. This ensures that the budget reflects the aspirations and needs of our citizens.”
The government aims to focus on public welfare, infrastructure development, education, health, and employment generation through these measures. The AI-enabled suggestions also highlight the growing role of technology in strengthening citizen participation and transparency in governance.
Moving Forward
The Haryana Budget 2026-27 is expected to reflect a balance between fiscal prudence and social development, integrating modern technology, citizen input, and stakeholder feedback. The state government has emphasized that the budget will prioritize citizen-centric schemes and initiatives that directly impact the lives of people across urban and rural areas.
With the upcoming Budget Session 2026, Haryana is setting a benchmark for participatory governance, leveraging both traditional and digital channels to ensure that the state’s development plans are inclusive and responsive to the public’s expectations.
