Taapsee Pannu opens up on Kangana Ranaut feud, says media exaggerated it; reveals ‘someone must have benefitted’ from the rumors.
Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu recently addressed the long-rumored feud with fellow actor-turned-MP Kangana Ranaut, stating that the supposed conflict was largely exaggerated and that she never actually clashed with Kangana. Speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast while promoting her upcoming courtroom drama Assi, Taapsee clarified her stance and reflected on the media-created rivalry.
No Real Fight Ever Happened
Taapsee Pannu explained, “I don’t know when I ever fought. A fight happens when two people clash. I never clashed. You tell me — have I ever said even a single line against her?” She recalled how Kangana’s sister, Rangoli Chandel, had once called her a ‘cheap copy’ of Kangana, suggesting that her lower earnings made her inferior. Taapsee, however, dismissed the remark gracefully, saying, “If she is such a brilliant actress, I have no problem being called her copy. You can take out any statement of mine — I haven’t said anything against her.”

Media and Fans Fueled the Feud
The media and some fans have often pitted Taapsee Pannu and Kangana as rivals, despite both actresses having no backing from industry insiders or star families. Taapsee believes the exaggerated narrative may have benefited others: “I don’t know about them, but someone or the other must have benefited in some way. From my side, there was never any fight. But I do feel that someone must have gained from it.”
Focused on Career, Not Conflicts
Taapsee Pannu is currently busy with Assi, directed by Anubhav Sinha, which has received positive reviews, particularly for Taapsee’s and co-star Kani Kusruti’s performances. The film is a courtroom drama, highlighting Taapsee’s versatility and commitment to meaningful cinema.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut, who was last seen in the political thriller Emergency (2025), portraying Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, is preparing for her next project, Bharatha Bhhagya Vidhata, another political thriller slated for release later this year. Despite rumors of tension, Taapsee expressed openness to moving forward, suggesting that personal growth and professionalism take precedence over manufactured disputes.
