Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath transfers ₹460 crore directly to 2.51 lakh farmers under Crop Insurance & Welfare Schemes. Disaster Mitra volunteers trained, emergency support strengthened.
In a major relief for farmers, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has transferred a total of ₹460 crore directly into the bank accounts of 2.51 lakh farmers and 3,500 beneficiary families. The payments include ₹285 crore under the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme (Kharif-2025) and ₹175 crore under the Krishak Accident Welfare Scheme.
Direct Benefit Transfer Ensures Transparency and Speed
CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the funds were credited directly into beneficiaries’ accounts, eliminating middlemen and ensuring timely assistance. “With just a click, ₹460 crore has reached the farmers’ accounts, reinforcing the government’s commitment to welfare and transparency,” he said.
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also highlighted that the compensation will cover losses caused by drought, excessive rainfall, and other natural calamities. “If a farmer’s crop is damaged, the insurance ensures swift compensation, protecting their livelihood,” he added.
Disaster Volunteer Program Strengthened
The UP government is also focusing on youth engagement through the Disaster Mitra Program. Over 29,772 volunteers, including NCC, NSS, NYKS members, and Bharat Scouts & Guides, have received training in disaster management across 25 districts. Volunteers are provided emergency responder kits, ID cards, certificates, and a three-year life and medical insurance coverage of ₹5 lakh.
“This program ensures that trained volunteers are ready to respond immediately during disasters, strengthening the state’s emergency response,” CM Yogi stated.

Key Infrastructure and Technology Initiatives
CM Yogi Adityanath also inaugurated new agricultural and disaster management infrastructure, including:
Sub-Agricultural Director offices and soil testing labs in Baghpat, Shamli, Kasganj, and Bhadohi.
A 50-bed student hostel in Mau Ranipur, Jhansi.
A Smart Agriculture Bureau Studio in Lucknow.
Upcoming Doppler Weather Radars in Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, and Azamgarh.
He added that over 450 automatic weather stations and 2,000 automatic rain gauges at the block level are already functional, improving weather forecasting and disaster preparedness.
Priority for Disaster Volunteers in Home Guard Recruitment
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that trained Disaster Mitras will receive priority in the upcoming recruitment of 45,000 Home Guards. Currently, 19,000 volunteers have been trained, and a two-year disaster management internship program is ongoing for graduates and postgraduates.
Government’s Commitment to Farmers
CM Yogi Adityanath assured farmers that the double-engine government will continue supporting them through innovative welfare programs. “Farmers remain the backbone of the state’s prosperity. With advanced farming techniques and direct financial support, they will continue to contribute to Uttar Pradesh’s growth,” he said.
