Najafgarh Drain Corridor: New Intra-City Route
To reduce traffic pressure in Delhi and connect rural areas of West and South Delhi with the main city network, the government has approved a 61 km two-lane road along both sides of the Najafgarh Drain. The project, costing approximately ₹454 crore, aims to develop an alternative intra-city route within the capital.

Road Width: 7 meters
Route: From Jhatikara Bridge to Chhawla Bridge and onward to Basai Darapur along both banks
Features: Pedestrian paths, dedicated cycle tracks, new bridge near Dwarka Metro Yard

Connectivity and Strategic Links
The Najafgarh Drain Corridor will connect key routes including Outer Ring Road, Inner Ring Road, Shivaji Marg, Pankha Road, NH-9 (Rohtak Road), and Najafgarh Road. The corridor will provide seamless connectivity to areas like Basai Darapur, Keshopur, Vikas Puri, Kakrola, Dhulsiras, and even IGI Airport, enabling commuters to bypass congested main roads.
