CM Nayab Saini stated that paddy procurement was conducted transparently at MSP, with ₹1,64,000 crore directly credited to farmers’ accounts and Bajra farmers receiving compensation benefits.
CM Nayab Saini addressed the state assembly regarding farmer welfare and the paddy procurement process, emphasizing transparency and efficiency in operations. He stated that paddy procurement for the Kharif 2025-26 season was carried out in full compliance with the guidelines of the Government of India.
According to CM Nayab Saini, 3,01,000 farmers sold 62,13,000 metric tons of non-basmati paddy at MSP (Minimum Support Price). Under the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal, 30,17,968 acres of non-basmati paddy were verified, with an estimated production of 97,86,000 metric tons in the state.
Digital Integration and Subsidy Savings
The CM highlighted that integrating the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal with the IFMS system brought greater transparency to fertilizer distribution and sales. This integration has resulted in a savings of around ₹700 crore in fertilizer subsidies over the past five months.

Opposition Allegations Dismissed
CM Nayab Saini dismissed opposition claims of a 30-50% discrepancy in Paddy Procurement data, emphasizing that over the past 12 seasons, ₹1,64,000 crore has been directly credited to farmers’ accounts.
Benefits for Bajra Farmers
The CM also announced that under the Price Differential Compensation Scheme, Bajra farmers will receive benefits at ₹575 per quintal. Additionally, with approval from the Government of India allowing 10% broken rice, the state successfully met its target of eight lakh metric tons within the scheduled timeline.
Future Plans: Technology-Driven Monitoring
Looking ahead, CM Nayab Saini mentioned that steps are underway to make procurement even more transparent, including geo-tagged gate passes, automatic vehicle number plate capture, geo-fencing of warehouses, and CCTV installation at entry and exit points.
