Tarunpreet Singh Sond announces Guru Ravidas Ji’s 650th Prakash Purab celebrations with documentary screenings in 13,000 Punjab villages.
Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond has announced a major statewide campaign to mark the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, under which a special documentary highlighting the life, teachings and philosophy of Guru Ji will be screened across more than 13,000 villages of Punjab.
As part of the year-long celebrations, mobile LED vans will travel across villages to showcase a 30-minute documentary based on the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. The initiative aims to connect people, especially the younger generation, with Guru Ji’s message of equality, devotion, social harmony and humanity.
Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond said that the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government is committed to spreading the values and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji among every section of society. He added that the celebrations will highlight Guru Ji’s vision of an inclusive society based on equality and compassion.
Tarunpreet Singh Sond stated that the documentary screenings will help youth understand the remarkable journey, spiritual contributions and social reforms inspired by Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. The government has planned various programmes throughout the year to make the historic occasion memorable.

Four Major Shobha Yatras to Reach Sri Khuralgarh Sahib
The minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond informed that four grand Shobha Yatras will be organised from Varanasi, Faridkot, Jammu and Bathinda, which will culminate at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib. Along with this, special pilgrimage programmes will also be arranged for devotees from Punjab to visit the birthplace of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji in Varanasi.
To promote Guru Ji’s philosophy among students, seminars and educational programmes will be conducted in schools, colleges and universities across the state. These events will focus on spreading awareness about Guru Ravidas Ji’s teachings of equality, brotherhood and social justice.
Punjab Government to Plant 6.5 Lakh Saplings Across Districts
As part of the celebrations, the Punjab Government will also launch an environmental campaign by planting 6.5 lakh saplings across different districts of the state. The initiative aims to encourage environmental protection while connecting people with the values of service and responsibility.
The year-long programme will also include blood donation camps, marathons, cycling rallies, religious gatherings and Kirtan Samagams across Punjab.
Tarunpreet Singh Sond said that the objective of these initiatives is to celebrate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji on a historic scale while preserving and promoting his message of equality, peace and social harmony for future generations.
