Munawar Faruqui reacts to his early elimination from The Traitors Season 2, calling the contestants an “insecure bunch” after they targeted him.
The drama in The Traitors Season 2 began almost immediately, with comedian and reality star Munawar Faruqui becoming the first contestant to be eliminated from the Circle of Shaq. The Karan Johar-hosted reality show returned with a fresh lineup of celebrities, but the opening episodes quickly turned tense as contestants began questioning each other’s intentions.
Munawar Faruqui found himself at the centre of suspicion during the first Circle of Shaq. After openly naming Mallika Sherawat as his suspected traitor, several players began questioning his own strategy and accused him of behaving more like a traitor than an innocent contestant.
Munawar Faruqui gets voted out in the first Circle of Shaq
The first elimination proved to be a major shock for the comedian. During the Circle of Shaq, Munawar received the highest number of votes and was consequently removed from the game.
Before leaving, Munawar Faruqui addressed the contestants and said that he had anticipated being targeted. He suggested that this was not the first time he had found himself in a situation where people considered him an easy target.
He also hinted that the contestants’ insecurities would eventually become visible as the game progressed. Munawar pointed out the contrast between contestants approaching him as friends and later writing his name down for elimination.
‘I am an innocent’
When host Karan Johar asked Munawar to disclose whether he was actually a Traitor or an Innocent, the comedian did not hold back.
Munawar Faruqui emotionally insisted that he had been playing the game seriously and wanted to perform well. He then revealed that he was an Innocent and criticised the contestants who had voted against him.

Calling them an “insecure bunch of people,” Munawar suggested that the players were afraid of him and believed he could dominate the game. He then challenged the remaining contestants to identify the real Traitors among themselves.
Who are the real Traitors?
Munawar’s elimination did not expose a Traitor. The first three episodes revealed that Kullu, Krystle D’Souza and Harman Singha were the original Traitors. Shahneel Gill was subsequently recruited as another Traitor during the second episode.
The developments have already created plenty of suspicion among the contestants, with alliances and accusations expected to become even more important as the competition continues.
Dalip Tahil and Karan Singh Magic also leave the game
Munawar was not the only contestant to exit early. Dalip Tahil was eliminated on the first day after a twist involving Gold Coins left him with the lowest total.
Karan Singh Magic also became an early casualty after the Traitors selected him for murder. His exit further demonstrated how quickly the game can change for the contestants.
The Traitors Season 2 celebrity lineup
The new season features a diverse group of celebrities, including Aaditya Kulshreshth (Kullu), Abhishek Malhan, Ansh Chopra, Dalip Tahil, Harman Singha, Ikka Singh, Karan Singh Magic, Krystle D’Souza, Mallika Sherawat, Parul Gulati, Prish and Ranveer Brar.
Rhea Chakraborty, Rida Tharana, Sahil Salathia, Shahneel Gill, Shalini Passi, Shweta Tiwari, Soundous Moufakir and Tanya Puri are also competing in the reality show.
With Munawar Faruqui already out of the competition, the remaining players now have an even bigger challenge: identifying the Traitors before they eliminate more Innocents. The Traitors Season 2 is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
