AAP MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal attacks BJP, alleging it is welcoming leaders removed by AAP over serious allegations and indiscipline ahead of the 2027 Punjab elections.
AAP Punjab MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and leaders who have left the Aam Aadmi Party, accusing them of putting personal ambitions ahead of Punjab’s interests. He claimed that while AAP has taken action against its own leaders over alleged misconduct and indiscipline, the BJP is welcoming leaders rejected by other political parties.
Addressing a press conference, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the Aam Aadmi Party was formed under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to bring a change in Indian politics and eliminate corruption. He maintained that the party had made it clear from the beginning that there would be no place for leaders driven solely by power and political positions.
AAP Took Action Against Its Own Leaders, Says Dhaliwal
Referring to leaders who have recently left the party, Kuldeep Singh Dliwal said that AAP had already suspended and removed individuals facing serious allegations or disciplinary action.
He claimed that the party had taken strict steps against its own ministers and MLAs whenever serious allegations emerged. According to him, some leaders faced cases involving allegations such as firing at police personnel, while others were removed for violating party discipline.
Dhaliwal also referred to the recently announced list of 40 candidates, claiming that it had created uneasiness among opposition parties. He alleged that leaders motivated by personal ambitions were leaving because they were unwilling to work for Punjab’s interests.
BJP Has Become a ‘Scrap Shop’ in Punjab: Dhaliwal
Targeting the BJP, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal described the party as a ‘scrap shop’ in Punjab, alleging that it was trying to strengthen itself by bringing in leaders rejected by other political parties.
He claimed that the BJP lacked a strong independent political base in the state and was relying on leaders from the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal and AAP to expand its presence.
Dhaliwal further alleged that the BJP was struggling to find its own leaders for important organisational positions in Punjab and was depending on people who had joined from other parties.
Dhaliwal Targets BJP’s Anti-Drug Campaign and Amit Shah’s Rally
Continuing his attack, Dhaliwal said that political battles could not be won by depending on leaders brought in from other parties. He linked the BJP’s alleged recruitment strategy to what he described as the failure of its anti-drug campaign in Punjab.
He also claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s rally in Jalandhar failed to attract the expected public response. According to Dhaliwal, people in Punjab were aware of the BJP’s political approach and were not convinced by its claims.
AAP Will Return to Power in Punjab in 2027, Claims Dhaliwal
Expressing confidence about the next Assembly elections, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the Aam Aadmi Party would return to power in Punjab in 2027 with a strong majority under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
He asserted that AAP would continue to focus on Punjab’s interests and maintain its stand against corruption and indiscipline.
