AAP Dr. Karan Barot: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized the continuous rise in fuel and LPG prices, alleging that the common public is being heavily burdened due to inflationary policies. AAP spokesperson Dr. Karan Barot stated that prices of petrol, diesel, and commercial LPG cylinders have been increasing frequently, significantly impacting household budgets as well as business operations. According to Dr. Barot, recent increases in petrol and diesel prices have added financial pressure on families, as transportation costs directly influence the prices of essential goods. He highlighted that even commercial LPG rates have seen sharp hikes, further increasing inflation concerns.

He argued that the continuous rise in fuel prices is not limited to vehicle owners but is affecting the entire supply chain and everyday living expenses.
Opposition questions GST inclusion
The AAP leader also questioned why petrol and diesel have not yet been brought under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) framework. He claimed that inclusion under GST could help stabilize prices and reduce the burden on consumers.
He further alleged that despite fluctuations in global crude oil prices, the benefits are not being passed on to the public, contributing to sustained inflation.
Demand for relief measures
Dr. Barot emphasized that farmers and the transport sector are among the worst affected due to rising fuel costs. Increased diesel prices, he said, are directly impacting agriculture operations and logistics, leading to higher production and transportation expenses.
He demanded that the government introduce targeted relief measures to support these sectors and control inflationary pressures.
Call for policy review
AAP urged the government to reconsider its fuel pricing strategy and ensure that citizens are not overburdened. The party stated that without immediate intervention, rising fuel and LPG prices will continue to strain household incomes and slow down economic activity.
