AAP leader Manoj Sorathiya urged citizens to join a Delhi Town Hall against E-20 petrol, demanding fuel choice and raising concerns over vehicle issues.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat Organisation General Secretary Manoj Sorathiya has called on citizens across the country to participate in a nationwide campaign against E-20 petrol, urging people to join a Town Hall programme in Delhi through both physical and virtual modes.
According to Sorathiya, the event aims to highlight concerns raised by vehicle owners regarding the use of E-20 fuel and to seek policy changes that provide consumers with greater flexibility in choosing the type of petrol suitable for their vehicles.
Raises Concerns Over Vehicle Performance
Addressing the media, Sorathiya claimed that many owners of petrol-powered vehicles have reported mechanical issues after using E-20 petrol. He alleged that problems such as difficult engine start-ups and spark plug malfunctions are increasingly being experienced, particularly in older vehicles that were not originally designed for higher ethanol-blended fuel.

He further claimed that discussions with engineers in Gujarat indicated that several older petrol vehicles may not be fully compatible with E-20 fuel, leading to maintenance concerns and additional expenses for vehicle owners.
Calls for Consumer Choice
The AAP leader alleged that the transition to E-20 petrol was implemented without adequate technical modifications to existing vehicles and argued that consumers should have the freedom to choose between E-20 petrol and conventional petrol based on their vehicle’s compatibility.
He said the party is demanding that the government provide motorists with both fuel options instead of making E-20 the default choice.
Delhi Town Hall to Highlight Public Concerns
Sorathiya announced that the AAP will organise a Town Hall meeting in Delhi to discuss concerns related to E-20 petrol. He said participants from across India are expected to join the programme both physically and online.
According to him, the event will provide a platform for citizens, vehicle owners and party workers to express their views on fuel policy and its impact on everyday commuters.
Appeal to Citizens Across Gujarat
The AAP leader appealed to residents of Gujarat and people from other states to participate in the programme through online links and social media platforms. He said public participation would help amplify concerns related to E-20 petrol and encourage policymakers to consider consumer interests.
