Atishi slams Raghav Chadha over alleged fear of BJP, silence on key issues, LPG crisis, and party loyalty in AAP internal rift.
The AAP internal rift has taken a dramatic turn as senior leader and former Delhi CM Atishi launched a scathing attack on Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha. This verbal showdown follows Chadha’s removal from the post of Deputy Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha and his subsequent cryptic statement, “I have been silenced, but I am not defeated.”
Atishi Questions Raghav Chadha’s Silence on Key Issues
During a press briefing on Friday, April 3, 2026, Atishi directly confronted Chadha, questioning his loyalty to the party’s struggle. The growing AAP internal rift became evident when she asked, “Raghav, why are you so scared of the BJP? Why do you fear questioning PM Modi?”
Atishi accused Chadha of staying silent while the country faces a constitutional crisis. She highlighted the alleged misuse of the Election Commission in West Bengal and the controversies surrounding vote counting, noting that Chadha refused to sign the impeachment motion brought forward by the Trinamool Congress and other opposition parties.

The London Trip and Kejriwal’s Arrest
A significant point of contention in the AAP internal rift is Chadha’s absence during the arrest of AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Atishi reminded Chadha that while party workers were being dragged through the streets by police and detained in various stations like Narela and Bawana, Chadha was in London.
“When Arvind Kejriwal was arrested, we were fighting on the streets. You said you were in London for eye surgery. We defended you then, but today I wonder—were you in London because you were scared of the BJP?” Atishi remarked.
Disconnect from Common Man’s Struggles
The AAP internal rift further widened as Atishi criticized Chadha for ignoring the plight of the common man regarding rising LPG prices. She stated that while ordinary families struggle to cook meals for their children, Chadha remained silent when asked to raise the issue in Parliament.

“You are a big man, a member of the Rajya Sabha. You might not have a problem, but common families are suffering,” she added, emphasizing that every individual must now choose between standing with the Prime Minister or standing with the Constitution.
“We Are Kejriwal’s Soldiers”
Concluding her statement, Atishi asserted that true members of the Aam Aadmi Party do not fear central agencies or jail. She suggested that Chadha might be intimidated by the prospect of imprisonment, a sentiment that highlights the depth of the current AAP internal rift.
“We are Arvind Kejriwal’s soldiers. We do not fear the BJP, Modi, their agencies, or going to jail. We will continue to raise the voice of the common man,” Atishi declared, signaling a potential long-term shift in the party’s internal dynamics.
As the AAP internal rift continues to dominate political headlines, all eyes are now on Raghav Chadha to see if he will respond to these serious allegations from within his own camp.
