AAP leader Atishi claims there is a plot to install President's Rule in Delhi.

AAP leader Atishi

Atishi, the cabinet minister for Delhi, claimed on Friday that the central government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, is hatching a major political plot to impose President’s Rule in the nation’s capital.

“There is a political plot to overthrow Arvind Kejriwal’s administration through his detention. We have received credible information that President’s Rule will be implemented in Delhi throughout the next several days. However, she stated at a press conference held here that “imposing President’s Rule in Delhi will be illegal and against the mandate of people.”

In response to the accusation made by the AAP leader, Delhi BJP chairman Virendra Sachdeva said it was unexpected that the Aam Aadmi Party, which has 62 MLAs in the Assembly, was plagued by a “fear of President’s Rule”.

Additionally, Sachdeva called for Kejriwal to step down as chief minister.

Atishi asserted during the news conference that a number of recent occurrences point to the potential for the president’s rule to be imposed in the nation’s capital.

According to the minister, no top IAS official has been appointed in Delhi in the previous several months.

“Departments have open positions, but no posts have occurred. Citing the Model Code of Conduct, bureaucrats have ceased attending meetings organized by ministers. Regarding the way the Delhi government is run, the lieutenant governor has been corresponding with the MHA through letters,” she claimed.

According to the minister, the BJP was previously aware that it “cannot come to power” in the capital.

“In the 2015 and 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, the AAP triumphed over the BJP. They wish to overthrow the Delhi administration for this reason. However, because the Delhi administration has a majority, imposing President’s Rule would be unlawful. On February 17 of this year, we conducted a floor test to demonstrate our majority,” she stated.

Sachdeva, however, slammed Atishi over this and charged that Kejriwal was feeling the heat of the Delhi High Court’s rebuke.

“Early this morning, Atishi’s customary fake tale of her victimization and Operation Lotus story was substituted with a new one. She stated today that President’s Rule would probably be implemented in Delhi,” he remarked.
“It would be better if Arvind Kejriwal resigns — hand over the government to a new chief minister and let Delhi’s administration run properly,”
