AAP leader Sanjay Singh
Sanjay Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP and senior AAP leader, stated on Saturday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was not permitted to have face-to-face interactions with his family while he was being held in Tihar jail.
Singh stated, “There is an attempt to break the morale of CM Kejriwal,” during a press conference.
“He has not permitted his family to meet with him in person. They can only get together with him via the jangla. This is not human. In-person meetings are permitted even for ardent criminals, according to the AAP chief.
In a room inside the jail, an iron mesh known as the “mulakat jangla” divides the visitor from the prisoner. Sitting on opposite sides of the mesh allows a visitor and an inmate to converse with one another.
The Tihar authorities did not respond right away.
Kejriwal’s meeting with his Punjabi counterpart Bhagwant Mann was set by the jail officials for Friday, April 15. They stated that Kejriwal might meet the AAP convener, but only as a regular visitor in the “mulakat jangla.”
On Tuesday, the chief minister had a meeting with his personal secretary Bibhav Kumar and wife Sunita Kejriwal inside Tihar Jail.
