AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava reacts to Rajubhai Karpada’s resignation, citing possible pressure from BJP. Karpada, a prominent farmer leader, spent 100+ days in jail for farmers’ rights and movements in Gujarat.
Rajubhai Karpada, the prominent farmer leader from Gujarat, recently resigned from all positions within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Reacting to this development, AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava, representing Dediyapada, highlighted the possible pressures that may have led to Karpada’s decision.
Chaitar Vasava said, “I have received information that Rajubhai Karpada has resigned from all his positions in the party. I tried to contact him personally, but have not been able to reach him yet. From what I know of Rajubhai, he has always been a determined and resilient leader for farmers’ rights. During the movement in Haddad, he spent over 100 days in jail while fighting to end the Kadada system in Botad.”
He added, “Rajubhai has consistently worked for farmers’ justice and fair prices, organizing multiple protests across Gujarat against exploitation in the APMC system. Despite facing challenges and pressure tactics from the BJP, he remained steadfast in his struggle.”

Chaitar Vasava further alleged that the BJP often uses intimidation, coercion, and pressure to influence opposition leaders and weaken movements. “It is likely that similar pressures contributed to Rajubhai’s resignation. Nevertheless, the AAP continues its fight for farmers and the public throughout Gujarat, and this struggle will grow stronger in the coming days. Securing justice for the people of Gujarat remains our foremost duty.”
This statement comes amid heightened political activity in Gujarat, where farmers’ movements have historically influenced state-level policies and relief packages. AAP leaders emphasize their commitment to protecting farmers’ rights and ensuring transparency in governance.
