AAP Punjab candidates list: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to announce its first list of candidates for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections tomorrow at 12 noon. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann confirmed the announcement while speaking to reporters in Delhi. The development signals that the party has accelerated its preparations for the Punjab polls.
A meeting was held in Delhi to discuss and finalise potential candidates. AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann were also present during the discussions. According to party sources, another meeting will take place tomorrow before the AAP Punjab candidates list is officially released.

Around 20 Names Expected in the First List
Although the party has not officially disclosed the number of candidates to be announced, around 20 names are expected to feature in the first list, according to reports. The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) is expected to give its final approval during tomorrow’s meeting.
There is also speculation that AAP may deny tickets to 30-40 sitting MLAs in the upcoming elections. However, the party has not officially confirmed any such decision. Sitting MLAs and constituency in-charges who have a favourable position within the organisation could be considered for the initial list.
The AAP Punjab candidates list is reportedly being prepared with a focus on announcing nominees before the Model Code of Conduct comes into force.
AAP Plans Early Candidate Announcement
The party is considering an early announcement so that candidates get sufficient time to work in their respective constituencies. This would allow them to connect with voters, strengthen their local presence and begin election preparations before the official schedule is declared.
By releasing the AAP Punjab candidates list while the party is still in power, the leadership aims to give its nominees more time to prepare at the grassroots level.
Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann Discuss Election Strategy
AAP has already begun strengthening its organisational structure in Punjab ahead of the Assembly elections. The party’s preparations gained momentum after Manish Sisodia was appointed as the Punjab in-charge following the Delhi Assembly elections.
Since then, several organisational changes have reportedly taken place, including appointments at the constituency level. These steps are part of the party’s efforts to strengthen its grassroots network and election machinery.
The upcoming AAP Punjab candidates list will be an important indication of the party’s candidate selection strategy. With around 20 names expected in the first announcement and speculation over possible ticket changes for sitting MLAs, attention is now focused on tomorrow’s meeting and the final decision of the party leadership.
The official list is expected to be released at 12 noon, as confirmed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
