AAP releases first list of 460 candidates in Gujarat, empowering ordinary citizens and challenging dynastic politics across the state.
In a significant political development, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has officially released its first list of over 460 candidates across Gujarat, signaling the start of a new era in the state’s politics. The announcement marks a strong move to end dynastic politics and provide opportunities to ordinary citizens.
AAP Gujarat President Isudan Gadhvi, while addressing the media through a video statement, said, “A new dawn has arrived for the common people of Gujarat. For the first time, AAP is giving tickets to ordinary citizens at the taluka, district, municipal, and metropolitan levels. This is the beginning of a politics that belongs to the people, not the political families.”
The first list of candidates was prepared in consultation with the state leadership, screening committees, and the central leadership. According to Gadhvi, over 460 candidates included in this list are socially active individuals who truly represent the common people. “Until now, political opportunities were mostly limited to the sons and daughters of politicians. Now, ordinary citizens are being given a chance to contest elections and serve their communities,” he added.

The move comes ahead of upcoming local body elections, where AAP aims to contest independently in all 12,000 seats across Gujarat. This strategic plan reflects AAP’s commitment to grassroots democracy and the empowerment of ordinary citizens, moving away from family-based political dominance.
Gadhvi emphasized that the public will recognize and support this new political approach that rises above caste, religion, and political lineage. “This is not just about elections; it is about creating a system where the people truly have a voice and a chance to lead,” he said.
The AAP leadership believes that this strategy of empowering common citizens will set a precedent in Gujarat politics and inspire other states to embrace a more inclusive and participatory form of democracy.
With this bold step, AAP hopes to present a genuine alternative to traditional political structures, giving ordinary people the opportunity to represent their communities and bring meaningful change.
