Minister Aman Arora distributes property certificates in Sunam under the ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ scheme. Residents in Red Line areas now get legal ownership.
In a significant move towards providing legal security to rural residents, Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora distributed property certificates to homeowners in the ‘Red Line’ (Lal Dora) areas of the Sunam assembly constituency. This initiative, part of the state government’s flagship ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ scheme, aims to resolve decades-old property disputes and grant residents their rightful ownership.
Granting Legal Ownership in Red Line Areas
During a special ceremony held in the villages of Akalgarh and Chhathe Nakte, Aman Arora personally handed over ownership documents to numerous families. He highlighted that residents living within the ‘Red Line’—the boundary of the village residential area—had long been deprived of legal titles. Aman Arora noted that the Punjab government is committed to rectifying these historical grievances by providing legal recognition to every household.

Economic Benefits and Financial Security
Addressing the gathering, Aman Arora explained that these property certificates are more than just legal papers; they are tools for economic empowerment. With these documents, homeowners can now access bank loans, which were previously unavailable due to the lack of clear titles. Aman Arora emphasized that this step would significantly increase the market value of properties and provide thousands of families with much-needed social and financial stability.
Focus on Universal Healthcare and Welfare
Beyond property rights, Aman Arora utilized the platform to advocate for other state welfare programs. He urged residents to register for health cards to benefit from cashless treatment up to 10 lakhs. Furthermore, Aman Arora reiterated the government’s progress in launching a financial assistance scheme for women, providing monthly support ranging from ₹1000 to ₹1500.
A Vision for Transparent Governance
The Minister concluded by stating that the success of the ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ scheme is a testament to the public-centric policies of the current administration. Aman Arora assured that the scope of such welfare initiatives would be expanded further to ensure that every citizen of Punjab receives their due rights with complete transparency.
