Anil Vij : The app will offer information to the public and will be available for installation on mobile phones
Sh. Anil Vij, Haryana’s Minister for Energy, Transport, and Labour, stated that a tracking app will soon be created to modernize the Transport Department’s operations. He mentioned that development work for the app is already underway and has instructed transport department officers to take the required actions.
Anil Vij interacted with the media in Chandigarh today.
During the interaction, the Minister shared that the transport app will offer complete details about bus schedules, including arrival and departure times. The app will be accessible on mobile phones, enabling users to check the arrival time of Haryana Roadways buses and how long it will take for a specific bus to reach their location.
He highlighted that the app will be advantageous for both passengers and the department, as travelers won’t have to seek alternative transport once they know when a bus is arriving.
The Transport Minister also mentioned that several important initiatives are being implemented to enhance facilities at bus stations/stops, with a focus on providing high-quality food and beverages. Initially, five bus stations in Haryana will offer food and beverage services through the Haryana Tourism Department.
He added that a proposal has been submitted to the government to launch this as a pilot project. If it proves successful, the project will be expanded, or alternatively, a corporation model, similar to the railway system, could be introduced to ensure quality food services for travelers, said Anil Vij.
