Apple may launch the next-generation iPad Mini with an OLED display, delivering its biggest upgrade since 2021 alongside refreshed iPad models.
Apple is reportedly preparing a major upgrade for its compact tablet lineup by introducing an OLED display to the next-generation iPad Mini. If the reports prove accurate, it will be the first time the iPad Mini features OLED technology, making it the most significant hardware update since the tablet’s redesign in 2021.
According to recent reports, the upcoming device carries the internal codename J510 and is expected to make its debut around October. Apple is also believed to be working on refreshed versions of the iPad Air, entry-level iPad, and future iPad Pro models.
OLED Display Could Transform the iPad Mini Experience
The biggest highlight of the upcoming iPad Mini is expected to be its OLED panel. Until now, Apple has reserved OLED technology for its premium iPad Pro lineup, but the company may now expand it to non-Pro models.

Apple is reportedly developing a new entry-level iPad, internally known as J581. The device is expected to launch in early next year and could feature an upgraded processor along with subtle design improvements.
The refreshed model is likely to strengthen Apple’s affordable tablet portfolio while offering better performance for students and everyday users.
Refreshed iPad Air Models Expected
The company is also said to be preparing updated 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models, carrying the internal codenames J807 and J837. Although Apple has not revealed specifications, the new tablets are expected to receive performance upgrades and improved hardware.
Apple Expanding OLED Across the iPad Lineup
Apple has been gradually expanding OLED technology across its product ecosystem. After introducing OLED displays to more iPhone models and the latest iPad Pro series, the company now appears ready to bring the technology to additional iPad models.
Industry reports suggest that Apple plans to transition more of its tablet lineup to OLED displays over the coming years, offering users improved display quality across different price segments.
