Ariana Grande claims that she purposefully changed her voice after the internet took a wild turn.

In response to criticism regarding her presence in a viral video, Ariana Grande playfully responded on TikTok.

In a widely shared video, Ariana Grande responds to the intense criticism around her “voice change” and clarifies that it was deliberate.

Grande’s recent participation on Penn Badgley’s “Podcrushed” podcast caused her to make a notable “voice change,” which provoked extensive conjecture and her subsequent defense.

In a lighthearted response to the criticism on TikTok, Grande stated, “I’ve always done this.”

“Habit (speaking like this for two years) and also vocal health 🍵,” Grande wrote in a video response to a TikTok clip displaying the vocal shift. She also mentioned spending a lot of time playing Glinda in the upcoming Wicked films.

She elaborated, saying, “Depending on how much singing I’m doing, I purposefully alter my voice placing (high / low) often. I’ve carried out this BYE always.

The “thank u, next” singer talks about her music in the original viral video, speaking in a lower tone at first and then switching to a higher, softer octave.

Various responses followed, with several users amusingly reacting to the modification. One user wrote, “Me when I have to use my customer service voice.”

“Me inadvertently slipping my other personalities around the wrong people,” chuckled someone else.

In the thick of the internet debate, Grande’s supporters quickly defended her.
Her interview voice is no different, especially since singers used to keep their vocals, a supporter said, pointing out that “y’all acting like y’all’s voices don’t change in certain spaces and settings.” Bring no stupid sh*t over here.

“I bet she uses this voice alteration to help ease into the operatic resonance she needs to use for when she sings Glinda s–t,” one user said.

The Sam & Cat star has talked about the intense training she had to do to become Glinda. “Everything about me, I had to deconstruct to prove to them I could handle taking on this other person,” she disclosed in an interview with The Zach Sang Show.

“I had to go all the way to strip that down, come into my callback with no makeup, my hair down, I looked like I was 11 years old,” the singer continued. “I had to completely erase popstar Ari, the person they know so well, because it’s even harder to believe someone as someone else when you’re so branded as one thing.”
