In the wake of the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 people dead, the entertainment industry has shown solidarity with the national mourning. Both Bollywood singer Arijit Singh and music composer Anirudh Ravichander have made significant changes to their concert schedules to honor the victims and their families.
Arijit Singh Cancels Chennai Concert in Solidarity
Arijit Singh, known for his soulful voice and massive fan following, has announced the cancellation of his upcoming concert in Chennai, which was scheduled for April 27, 2025. This decision, made in consultation with the event organizers, was driven by a deep respect for the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. In a statement released by the organizers, they emphasized that it was important to pause and reflect on the tragedy affecting the country.
“IMPORTANT UPDATE: In light of the recent and tragic events, the organizers, along with the artist, have collectively decided to cancel the upcoming show scheduled to happen in Chennai this Sunday, April 27th. All ticket holders will receive full refunds, and the amount will be automatically refunded back to your original mode of payment. For any queries, please write to events@district.in,” the statement read.
Anirudh Ravichander Pauses Bengaluru Ticket Sales
Similarly, renowned music composer and singer Anirudh Ravichander has postponed ticket sales for his highly anticipated concert in Bengaluru, part of his Hukum World Tour. The show was scheduled for June 1, 2025, but ticket sales for the Bengaluru event were supposed to go live on April 24, 2025. In a heartfelt message to his fans, Anirudh expressed his deep sorrow over the Pahalgam incident.
“The tragic events in Pahalgam have deeply shaken us all. Our heartfelt prayers and deepest condolences go out to the victims and their families,” he wrote in his statement. He further stated, “Considering the current national situation, we are postponing the ticket sales for the Second Show of the HUKUM World Tour in Bengaluru, which was originally scheduled to go live today (24th April) at 2 PM. The new ticket sale date for the second show will be announced soon.”
This gesture by Anirudh Ravichander shows his sensitivity to the emotions of the nation, as the music community unites in expressing their grief.
