Arvind Kejriwal criticizes BJP in Gujarat, meets farmers and public in Rajkot, condemns police oppression, and highlights AAP as a true alternative for citizens.
AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal addressed farmer families in Rajkot, sharply criticizing the BJP government in Gujarat. He drew parallels between the British colonial rule and the current BJP administration, stating that both relied on arrogance to maintain control, but this time, the public’s resistance will break that dominance.
Arvind Kejriwal Honors Farmers and Raises Awareness
During the meeting, Arvind Kejriwal honored farmers who were previously imprisoned in false cases and recently released on bail. Speaking to the attendees, he said, “Farmers are not fighting just for themselves but for the entire farming community in Gujarat. Our country suffered under colonial rule for 150 years. It seemed India would never be free. The British believed that Indians would always remain their subjects. Similarly, the BJP has developed arrogance, thinking no one can remove them from power in Gujarat. But this time, their illusion will shatter.”
Ke jriwal also emphasized that the BJP government’s oppression has left the entire state struggling. “Just as Mahatma Gandhi led the ‘Quit India’ movement against the British, the farmers’ movement in Hardhad will ensure the BJP leaves Gujarat. The BJP is using police force, tear gas, and arrests to intimidate people, but gradually, the fear among citizens is fading,” he added. Senior party leaders including Gujarat in-charge Gopal Rai and MLA Gopal Italia were present during the event.

Harsh Treatment of Farmers in Hardhad
Referring to recent incidents in Hardhad, Arvind Kejriwal condemned the police action against farmers. “Last month, farmers faced lathi-charge, tear gas, and false FIRs. People were jailed for protesting against unfair practices without causing harm. I could not remain silent and came from Delhi to meet the farmers, but the police tried to block our interaction with them. Even the stage set for the farmers was demolished,” Arvind Kejriwal explained.
AAP Will Not Sit Idle
Arvind Kejriwal reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party would not stay passive. “Just like Gandhi’s 1942 ‘Quit India’ movement freed the country, the Hardhad movement will ensure justice by driving the BJP out of Gujarat. Only when citizens vote decisively against the BJP will true justice prevail. Out of 88 arrested farmers, 42 have been released while 46 remain imprisoned. Our team of lawyers is working to secure the release of every individual,” he said.
BJP and Congress Are Indistinguishable
Addressing the political vacuum in Gujarat, Arvind Kejriwal said, “People felt they had no real alternative in the state. BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin. Recently, when MLA Gopal Italia questioned BJP policies during a public meeting, a Congress worker hurled a shoe at him. Delhi leaders of Congress tried to stop Italia from criticizing BJP. This proves both parties are aligned against public dissent. Now, AAP provides a genuine alternative, giving citizens hope without fear of FIRs or imprisonment.”
