Caught on Kiss Cam: Astronomer CEO Faces Fallout from Coldplay Concert Controversy

Software startup Astronomer has issued a public statement following a viral moment at a Coldplay concert in Boston, where its CEO Andy Byron was seen in an intimate moment with Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer. The incident, caught live on the venue’s Jumbotron kiss cam, has ignited widespread speculation and backlash online.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) more than 24 hours after the footage spread across social media, Astronomer finally addressed the situation, stating:

“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”

The company also took the opportunity to deny certain rumors circulating online, clarifying that no other employees, including Alyssa Stoddard, were present or featured in the video. Additionally, Astronomer confirmed that Byron has not issued a statement, contrary to false reports suggesting otherwise.

According to sources cited by Axios, both Byron and Cabot have been placed on immediate leave as the company’s board conducts an internal investigation. Another insider revealed that the delay in Astronomer’s official response was partly due to ongoing negotiations regarding Byron’s resignation and exit package.

Andy Byron has led Astronomer since 2023. Cabot, who joined in 2024 as head of HR, was praised at the time by Byron in a company press release for her “exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and scaling people strategies.”
