Badshah Turns His US Concert Into an Emotional Tribute to Flood-Hit Punjab
Bollywood’s popular music artist Badshah took a moment to honour his home state of Punjab amid its worst flooding in nearly four decades. During his live performance in Oakland, Bay Area, as part of his multi-city Unfinished Tour, the rapper delivered a heartfelt message that turned the concert into a touching tribute to Punjab’s resilience and spirit.

Celebrating Punjab’s Chardikala
Addressing his millions of fans, Badshah expressed his deep connection to Punjab and highlighted the region’s Chardikala spirit—the belief in staying optimistic and courageous, even in the face of adversity. Speaking to the audience, he said, “Itihass to puchlo dasduga… Punjab kihde naal banya”, meaning, “Ask history and it will tell you who built Punjab.”
He continued with an emotional reminder of the unwavering spirit of Punjabis: “Girkar uthhte hai… uthenge… kal honsla jabardast hoga. Chardikala kya hai mere dost… kehkar nahin, karkar dikhayenge,” translating to, “Even if we fall, we rise again… tomorrow our determination will be stronger. Chardikala isn’t just words, my friends—we will show it through action.”
