Why This Series Matters
The upcoming T20I series carries significant weight for both sides.
For India, the defending T20 World Cup champions (2024), this five-match series could act as a vital dress rehearsal before they co-host the 2026 T20 World Cup with Sri Lanka, set for February-March.
Meanwhile, New Zealand will look to fine-tune their squad and strategies ahead of their following T20I engagement against Afghanistan, making this series a key part of their preparations.
