Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday announced the launch of a new Pilgrimage Bus Service connecting devotees to Khatu Shyam, Salasar, Vrindavan, and Rishikesh. The service will begin August 1, aiming to make spiritual travel more accessible for people across the state.
The announcement was made while addressing devotees during the “An Evening in the Name of Lord Shiva” event held in Mohali, where the Chief Minister said he was overwhelmed by the affection of the people and the blessings of Lord Shiva.
During his address, Bhagwant Singh Mann described Punjab as the sacred land of Gurus and saints, emphasizing that the state’s true identity lies in harmony, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence. He said Punjab has always celebrated unity in diversity and continues to stand as a symbol of brotherhood.

Highlighting the newly announced pilgrimage initiative, the Chief Minister said the decision was taken after considering the religious sentiments and aspirations of devotees, particularly senior citizens. According to him, the new bus service will provide a convenient and organized mode of travel to some of the country’s most revered pilgrimage destinations.
Bhagwant Singh Mann also underlined his government’s welfare-focused approach, stating that public resources are being invested directly in initiatives that improve people’s lives. He cited measures such as free electricity, the Mawan-Dhian Satkar Yojana for women, and the newly announced pilgrimage bus service as examples of policies designed to benefit citizens.
He reiterated that the government’s objective is to ensure that taxpayers’ money is utilized for public welfare and social development while strengthening facilities that matter to ordinary families.
Concluding his address, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann invoked Lord Shiva’s blessings and extended his wishes for peace, prosperity, and happiness for every family in the state, ending his speech with the chant of “Har Har Mahadev.”
