Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met municipal winners from his constituency, Dhuri, in Chandigarh and congratulated them on their electoral success. During the meeting, he urged the representatives to stay connected with the people and work dedicatedly for the welfare of their respective wards.

Addressing the newly elected councillors, Mann emphasized the importance of grassroots governance and public engagement. He appealed to the representatives to remain accessible to citizens and address their concerns promptly. The chief minister said that public trust can only be strengthened when elected leaders work closely with the communities they represent.
Assures Full Support for Development Projects
During the interaction, Mann assured the municipal winners that there would be no shortage of funds for development works. He stated that the Punjab government is committed to improving infrastructure, public services, and civic amenities across the state. The chief minister encouraged the councillors to identify local needs and work towards accelerating development in their areas.

The Chief Minister further noted that Punjab has emerged as the country’s leading state in the education sector, reflecting the government’s focus on strengthening public education and creating better opportunities for students.

Strong Stand Against Sacrilege
Speaking about law and order, Mann referred to the implementation of the Jagat Jyoti Sri Guru Granth Sahib Act 2026, describing it as a significant step to ensure strict action against incidents of sacrilege. He said the legislation demonstrates the government’s commitment to protecting religious sentiments and maintaining social harmony.
Vision for a Prosperous ‘Rangla Punjab’
Reiterating his government’s vision for the state, Mann said that the Punjab government will continue serving every section of society without discrimination. He expressed confidence that the combined efforts of elected representatives and the government would help rebuild a prosperous and vibrant “Rangla Punjab.”
The chief minister said that the state remains focused on inclusive development, public welfare, employment security, and improved governance for all citizens.
