Dhuri, Punjab : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced the launch of the Mothers-Daughters Respect Scheme during a public event in Dhuri, marking a significant step in the Punjab government’s women welfare initiatives. The announcement was shared through the Chief Minister’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Monthly Honorarium for Eligible Women
Under the Mothers-Daughters Respect Scheme, eligible women from the general category will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹1,000, while eligible women belonging to the Dalit community will receive ₹1,500 per month. The initiative aims to provide regular financial support to women and improve the economic security of families across Punjab.
Three Months’ Financial Assistance Credited Together
To ensure a smooth rollout, the Punjab government transferred the honorarium for the first three months—July, August, and September—directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. As a result, eligible women received a total of ₹3,000 (general category) or ₹4,500 (Dalit community) in the first installment.
