BIHAR CM Nitish Kumar today started the first phase of ‘Pragati Yatra’ from Tharu Tola Ghotwa located in Santpur Sohariya Panchayat under Bagaha-2 block of West Champaran district. During the visit, the Chief Minister visited Tharu Tola Ghotwa and took stock of the developmental works done through various schemes. During this, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone by unveiling the plaques related to 41 schemes costing Rs 172.19817 crore at Tharu Tola Ghotwa. During the visit to Tharu Tola Ghotwa, the Chief Minister showed the peel produced by MNREGA, Inspected Health and Wellness Centre, Waste Management Unit, Park and Open Gym built by Zilla Parishad, Chief Minister Rural Street Light Scheme, Nali-Gali Scheme, Tap Water Scheme, Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme etc. Flowers were showered to welcome the Chief Minister by the Tharu community and Jeevika Didis. During the visit, the Chief Minister talked to the local people and listened to their problems and directed the officials to solve them as soon as possible.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of infrastructure construction work in the field of off-grid to on-grid electrification of 11798 houses of 25 villages of Tharuhat area under the Energy Department at a cost of Rs 139.04 crore. While giving information regarding the situation before the development works done in Tharu Tola Ghotwa, the officials told the Chief Minister that Tharu Tola Ghotwa is situated on the banks of Doan canal, which is situated near Valmikinagar forest. Due to rise in water level during rainy season, not only the traffic got stopped.In fact, the contact of this village with other villages was also lost. The sick had difficulty even going out for treatment. With the construction of Chilka, connectivity will be maintained in the village along with smooth transportation. Similarly, due to off-grid electricity supply in 25 panchayats of Tharu region, electricity supply in these areas was for short duration. Due to on-grid electrification, adequate and quality electricity will be supplied uninterruptedly in these areas.The Chief Minister inspected the stalls set up at Tharu Tola Ghotwa related to various products being manufactured locally by the Tharu community and Jeevika Didis. The Chief Minister planted saplings in the open gym premises. On the arrival of the Chief Minister, the villagers expressed their gratitude for his development works by making rangoli in front of their homes.
