Major Development in Gopalganj: Rs 1,585.59 Crore Projects Unveiled
At an event held at Sabeya Airport Field in Gopalganj, CM Nitish Kumar unveiled projects totaling Rs 1,585.59 crore. Out of these, 124 schemes worth Rs 1,295.85 crore were marked for foundation laying, while 61 projects valued at Rs 289.74 crore were formally inaugurated.
One of the key highlights is the construction of a 3.18-km two-lane rail overbridge with approach roads at Mirganj Bypass, estimated at Rs 131.38 crore. The CM described this as the fulfillment of a promise made during the Pragati Yatra, emphasizing the government’s dedication to infrastructure development.
Additionally, Rs 126.54 crore has been allocated for building a 12.6-km Gopalganj Bypass Road with paved shoulders, aimed at improving traffic flow and connectivity.
Rs 744.85 Crore Projects Launched in Vaishali
In Vaishali district, at Goraul Degree College, Nitish Kumar launched projects worth Rs 744.85 crore focusing on drainage, power, and other essential infrastructure.
A major component of this initiative includes a stormwater drainage system for the Hajipur Nagar Parishad area, with an investment of Rs 129 crore. Moreover, four power sector projects under the Energy Department have received Rs 181.78 crore in funding to enhance the region’s electricity infrastructure.

The government also plans to develop libraries, sports grounds, and other facilities with an outlay of Rs 122.14 crore, aimed at promoting community well-being and education.
Support and Encouragement to ‘Jeevika Didis’
Addressing the ‘Jeevika Didis’ — women associated with self-help groups under the rural livelihood project — CM Nitish Kumar praised their contributions, saying, “You are doing a great job. Since 2005, our government has increased the number of self-help groups named ‘Jeevika Didis’. We are working for the upliftment of all sections of society. Nobody is left behind.”
The CM further encouraged the women in Vaishali to “keep working with glory and dignity,” assuring continued government support.
Welfare Schemes Garner Appreciation
Beneficiaries of various welfare schemes expressed gratitude towards the CM for improvements such as enhanced pensions, honorarium hikes, and free 125 units of electricity for households. These welfare measures aim to improve the quality of life for Bihar’s citizens.
Vision for a Harmonious and Progressive Bihar
Nitish Kumar concluded by emphasizing the importance of social harmony for Bihar’s development, stating, “If all sections of society live in harmony, Bihar will progress.”
