Bihar News Update : PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹13,000 crore in Bodh Gaya,
Bihar News : PM Narendra Modi launched and laid the foundation for development initiatives worth over ₹13,000 crore in Bodh Gaya, Gaya district. These projects span sectors such as power, railways, roads, healthcare, housing, water supply, rural and urban infrastructure, cancer care, and river conservation. The ceremony, held at Magadh University campus, was graced by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
During his address, the Prime Minister praised CM Nitish Kumar for the state’s developmental efforts and said that the Centre is working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Bihar government for the state’s progress.
Speaking at the event, CM Nitish Kumar welcomed PM Modi and highlighted that 14 projects related to power, road, and urban development were inaugurated, along with the flagging off of two trains. He noted that these projects, worth over ₹13,000 crore, would significantly benefit Bihar. He also thanked the Prime Minister for inaugurating the newly built Ganga Bridge at Simaria in Begusarai.
The CM underlined the state’s progress since 2005, citing improvements in law and order, education, health, power, and infrastructure. He mentioned welfare measures like increasing pensions for the elderly, differently-abled, and widows from ₹400 to ₹1,100, providing free electricity to households since July, and fulfilling the and 39 lakh employment opportunities, now being scaled up to 50 lakh, with a new target of 1 crore jobs in the next five years.
He also highlighted the Centre’s continued support for Bihar through budget allocations for roads, industries, health, tourism, flood control, the establishment of a Makhana Board, airport development, and funding for the Western Kosi Canal. Nitish Kumar expressed pride that Bihar has been chosen to host the Khelo India Youth Games.
The event saw the participation of several Union Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, state ministers, MPs, MLAs, party leaders, and a large gathering of people.
