The monumental concert, titled “Back to the Beginning,” is set for Saturday, July 5, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, the home stadium of Aston Villa Football Club and the birthplace of the iconic band.
The Original Lineup Reunites
For the first time since 2005, the original four members of Black Sabbath will take the stage together: Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, and Bill Ward on drums. This marks a special moment, as Bill Ward did not join the band during their previous “The End” tour, which concluded in Birmingham in February 2017.
Ozzy will open the show with a solo set before joining his former bandmates for a powerful performance — a final farewell to fans who have followed their groundbreaking heavy metal journey since the band’s formation in 1967.
Star-Studded Lineup of Rock Legends
The “Back to the Beginning” concert isn’t just about Black Sabbath and Osbourne. The event features a stellar lineup of hard rock heavyweights, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Slayer.
Additionally, fans can expect appearances by other rock legends such as Sammy Hagar, Billy Corgan (co-founder of Smashing Pumpkins), and Tom Morello (guitarist for Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave), who also serves as the concert’s music director.
Notably, Jake E. Lee, Osbourne’s former guitarist who survived a shooting in October 2024, will also be joining the festivities, adding to the night’s historic significance.
