Actress Neha Dhupia will star in her first international motion picture, “Blue 52,” which is helmed by well-known Egyptian director Ali El Arabi.

Ali El Arabi, renowned for “Captains of Za’atari,” his multi-award winning documentary film.

“Blue 52” takes place in front of breathtaking views of Qatar and Kochi, India.

Neha Dhupia stated, “Starting on the journey of ‘Blue 52’ has been nothing short of magical,” when discussing her international debut. The amalgamation of several cultures in this global endeavor enabled me to thoroughly explore a character that is both emotionally poignant and demanding.

The actress expressed her gratitude to Ali for selecting her to play the lead in her first foreign film, saying, “It’s a transformative experience that I believe will leave a lasting impact.”

The movie tells the tale of Ashish, who, at the age of nine, is abandoned on an island in Kochi, India’s backwaters by his father, who uses Ashish’s dread of losing his eldest son as leverage. By the time he is 22 years old, Ashish has grown into a boy stuck in a man’s body, knowing little about the world outside of his idol Messi and the life lessons his mother has taught him throughout the years to get him ready for life away from their little island.

Fortified by his renewed determination, Ashish makes the decision to move out of the house with his mother’s help and an almost unbelievable opportunity to meet his hero, Lionel Messi, during the World Cup in Qatar.
