The Chairman of the Punjab Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation (BACKFINCO), Mr. Sandeep Saini, urged the youth of Punjab, particularly those recently deported from abroad, to take advantage of the low-interest loan schemes offered by BACKFINCO. He emphasized that these schemes are designed to help them establish self-employment within the state. Mr. Saini also strongly condemned the treatment of the deported youth, who were sent back from America in handcuffs, and criticized the decision to land the plane in Punjab.
Mr. Saini pointed out that under the leadership of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, BACKFINCO is committed to providing low-interest loans to support self-employment projects. These schemes are aimed at improving the economic conditions of backward classes, economically weaker sections, and minority groups, including Sikhs, Muslims, Buddhists, Jains, and others in the state. He urged the youth to focus on local employment opportunities rather than seeking work abroad and encouraged them to visit BACKFINCO’s district offices for assistance in starting their own businesses.
Speaking about the Punjab government’s efforts under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Mr. Saini mentioned that over 50,000 jobs have been created for the youth in the past three years, with plans to create thousands more in the near future. He also criticized the Union government for allegedly attempting to damage Punjab’s image by deporting youth, including individuals from other states like Gujarat and Haryana, to Punjab.
