Char Dham Yatra: As per the statement made by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) on Wednesday, the Char Dham Yatra online registration will start on April 15. On May 10, the pilgrimage to all four Dhams—including the Hemkund Sahib—will begin.

“After the temple priests on April 14 declare the auspicious moment for the doors of the Yamunotri Dham to open, the necessary online registration will begin on April 15. Eight to ten centers in Rishikesh will host the offline registration, followed by Haridwar, according to UTDB joint director Yogendra Gangwar.

Pilgrims can register via the website, app, toll-free phone, and WhatsApp, he added, adding that the arrangements are still being finalized.

“As of right now, no measures have been taken to restrict the number at any Dham. Any such measures will be taken into consideration later after evaluating the registrations,” he stated.

Online registration is available at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in, the official WhatsApp lines, and toll-free numbers that will be made available before registration opens.

Char Dham Yatra: Pilgrims should pack warm clothing, an umbrella, and other necessities for protection while registration. They should also retrieve their “darshan” tokens directly from the Dham. Travelers with a medical history ought to bring their medications, and pilgrims who feel ill should forgo the trip after consulting with the medical personnel stationed along the Yatra route, according to Gangwar.

The government has also made arrangements for helicopter services. According to officials, travelers using heliyatra.irctc.co.in should refrain from purchasing helicopter tickets from unapproved vendors who are giving darshan for the Char Dham Yatra route.

“On April 15, the Hemkunt Sahib Yatra online registration will open, and on May 25, the shrine portal will open.” This year, pilgrims will have additional helicopter service from Gauchar to Ghangria and the Badrinath shrine in addition to the helicopter service from Govind Ghat to Ghangria, according to NS Bindra, president of the Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara Management Trust.

The path is currently covered in snow, and on April 15th, work to remove the snow will start. Bindra stated that the district administration officials and members of the Army would be involved in the task.

The Gangotri shrine’s portals will open at 12.25 p.m. on May 10. The Yamunotri Dham shrine’s portals will open on May 10, but the precise time will be revealed on April 14 by the Kharsali temple priest community, which is the Goddess Yamuna’s winter residence.

On May 10, the Kedarnath shrine portal will open, while on May 5, the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath will host the Bhairavnath prayers. The goddess’ Panchmukhi palanquin is scheduled to depart from Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath on May 6 and arrive at the Kedarnath shrine in the evening on May 9.

The Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee’s media coordinator, Harish Gaur, stated that the Tel Kalash yatra ceremony will start on April 25 and the portal to the shrine will open on May 12 at 6 a.m.

Shrine at Char Dham Yatra close for about half of the year; they open in April or May for summer and close in October or November for winter. On May 12 of this year, around six in the morning, the Badrinath Dham portals will open.

With almost 5.6 million people taking part in the yearly pilgrimage, the yatra reached a new record last year. By 2022, the four hallowed Himalayan sanctuaries had welcomed more than 4.6 million pilgrims.
