Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen, during his visit to Balod today, visited the exhibition based on the departmental activities of the district at the Janadarshan Hall of the Joint District Office. On the occasion, Mr. Deka interacted with the outstanding players who have brought laurels to the district in sports activities and encouraged them. Governor Deka extended his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the players of the district on their significant achievement. He asked them to bring laurels to the district, state and the country by achieving success in the field of sports with hard work and dedication. On this occasion, Governor Deka presented electric wheel chairs to Divyang Shri Pusuram Sahu of Tekapar and Smt Purnita Alendra of Borid on behalf of the Social Welfare Department.
Governor Deka interacted with Dhruvram Sahu, a farmer of Sanoud who had taken pulses and oilseeds in lieu of paddy by changing the cycle under the Jal Jatan Yojana in the district. Farmer Dhrubaram Sahu informed the Governor that when he came to know about the loss due to paddy cultivation in the Chaupal organized by the District Administration and Agriculture Department, he changed his mind and this year in lieu of paddy, 5 acres of gram and 5 acres of maize crop has been taken, which has proved to be beneficial for him. Along with this, active women of self-help groups Mrs. Asha Sagar and Jyoti Sahu informed that all these women are going from village to village to convince the people to save water. During this, he interacted with Siddhi Self Help Group, Jai Maa Pahado Wali Self Help Group, Navdeep Self Help Group, Bank Sakhi Mrs. Malti Sahu and other women and enquired about the work being done by them and the income generated from it. On this occasion, the women of the self-help group presented the materials prepared by the group to Governor Deka. Governor Deka also handed over a cheque of Rs. 2 lakh 50 thousand under the departmental scheme to Mr. Rajendra Yadav and his wife who had an inter-caste marriage. On this occasion, SSP Harjit Singh, SDM Sandeep Kumar, ADC (D) Parveen Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jugal Kishore, SP Sukhdev Singh Virk, SP Sharanjit Singh, all DSPs, health department officials among others were also present.
