Chhattisgarh NEWS : Basic facilities are being provided rapidly in the habitations of special backward tribes in Chhattisgarh. In remote areas of the State, 7,204 habitations have been electrified. Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company and State Renewable Energy Development Corporation have provided electricity to these villages through power lines and solar panels.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has directed to provide cent percent electricity facility in identified tribal habitations of the state under the Janman Yojana in the state. Against the target of electrification of 7292 habitations belonging to Special Backward Tribes in the State, Chhattisgarh Distribution Company has electrified 7120 habitations. Similarly, 84 habitations have been electrified against the target of 172 habitations through solar energy by the State Renewable Energy Development Corporation.
It is noteworthy that under the PM Janman Yojana launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, along with many basic facilities like roads, electricity, drinking water in the habitations of Special Backward Tribes, they are being benefitted from various schemes of the Central and State Government.
Under the PM Janman Yojana, special backward tribal habitations of 18 districts of Chhattisgarh have been identified. These include Kondagaon, Kanker, Narayanpur, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Gaurela-Pendra Marwahi, Korba, Mungeli, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, Kabirdham, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Jashpur, Balrampur and Surguja.
