Chhattisgarh NEWS : The 76th Republic Day celebrations marked a historic moment in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. Villages that once endured the fear and terror caused by Naxals are now embracing peace and development. Thanks to the remarkable success of the anti-Naxal campaign led by the Chhattisgarh Government, a renewed sense of security and trust has emerged in these villages. For the first time this year, residents of 26 villages proudly hoisted the tricolour and celebrated Republic Day with immense enthusiasm.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh Government’s anti-Naxal campaign has transformed the security and development landscape in the Bastar division. By setting up security centres in the remote and interior areas of Bastar, peace has been restored. Villages that were once heavily impacted by Naxal control lived in fear, unable to take part in national festivals or lead normal lives. Today, the success of the anti-Naxal campaign has not only brought peace but also instilled new hope in the local communities.

In the past year, 26 new security centres have been established in Naxal-affected areas of the Bastar division. These centres have bolstered law and order while also serving as hubs for development. In villages across the districts of Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur, and Kanker, residents celebrated Republic Day by hoisting the national flag for the first time and enthusiastically participated in the festivities.

At these security centres, police and security personnel, together with local villagers, raised the tricolour. Discussions on the significance of Republic Day were held, and sweets, chocolates, and other treats were distributed to the villagers and children.

New security camps have been set up in Bijapur district at Gundam, Futkel, Chutwahi, Kondapalli, Zidpalli, Watewagu, Karregatta, and Peediya; in Narayanpur district at Kasturmeta, Maspur, Eirkabhatti, Mohandi, Horadi, Garpa, Kachhapaal, and Kodliyar; in Sukma district at Tekalgudem, Puvarti, Lakhapal, Poolanpad, Tumalpar, Raigudem, Golakunda, Gomguda, and Mettaguda; and in Kanker district at Panidobir.

Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range), Shri Sundarraj P., highlighted that the combined efforts of the Chhattisgarh Government and security forces have restored peace and democracy in the Bastar division. The security centres established under the anti-Naxal campaign have played a crucial role in guiding Naxal-affected regions towards peace and development.

During the main Republic Day event at Lalbagh Parade Ground in Jagdalpur, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma hoisted the national flag. Extending his greetings to the people of the state, Shri Sharma praised the success of the anti-Naxal campaign and commended the ongoing efforts to ensure security and development in the Bastar division.
