Chhattisgarh NEWS : The Urban Administration and Development Department of the State Government has granted a special relaxation of 30 days for the submission of property tax and returns for the financial year 2024-25 in urban bodies. These can now be deposited till April 30, 2025. The state government has issued a circular in this regard to all Collectors, Municipal Commissioners and Chief Municipal Officers of Municipal Corporations and Nagar Panchayats.
The Department of Municipal Administration has said in the circular that the last date fixed for submission of property tax and returns in urban bodies is 31 March 2025. This year also, the last date for filing of property tax and return is 31st March, 2025. In the financial year 2024-25, the Code of Conduct was also in force in Lok Sabha election work, delimitation work of bodies, electoral roll revision work and elections to local bodies etc. Officers and staff were present at the function. As a result, the process of revenue collection has been affected.
The Department has set 30th April, 2025 as the last date for submission of property tax and returns for the year 2024-25 with a special relaxation of 30 days in view of the impact on revenue collection activities.The Urban Administration Department has given instructions through a circular to collect property tax from door to door by the employees of the body and encourage citizens to pay online.The department has also directed to make the government aware of the work done for tax collection while ensuring compliance in all urban bodies.
